At this time in the US, the primary imaging method used to catch breast cancer is having a mammogram every year after age 40. However, today’s most conventional method tends to fall short when about 1 in 8 breast cancers are missed. Women with dense breasts are particularly prone to false-negatives.
What if there was a way to receive accurate results you can trust irrespective of tissue density? What if the same screening was also fast and completely pain free?
We want to make an accurate screening method built with patient comfort in mind a reality for every woman. On our journey to eliminating breast cancer as the second leading cause of cancer death in women, we have most recently launched a new breakthrough AI software designed to enhance image quality. This new version integrates seamlessly with the existing imaging platform used in our FDA cleared breast CT device.
Our technology was already especially effective at imaging dense breast tissue when using contrast: Similar to whole-body CT imaging where contrast enhancement is used to improve visualization of disease in the body, contrast enhanced breast CT imaging increases specificity and allows for improvement in early-stage cancer detection when compared to mammography. Our device can acquire these improved images in a matter of seconds and at radiation levels in the same range as conventional mammograms. The new proprietary AI software produces even more accurate high-resolution 3D images, providing unparalleled clarity and promising a game-changing impact on the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Beyond improved image resolution, the enhanced software also dramatically reduces noise and artifacts that can interfere with image interpretation.
