The Koning Vera Breast CT offers 3D guided biopsy measurements guided by X-ray. Our system offers a revolutionary diagnostic technique for breast imaging and CT-guided interventions, and can significantly improve the detection of breast masses and microcalcifications thanks to its high resolution and potential use for reconstruction.

The average biopsy with out device can be completed in just 15 to 20 minutes. The two most important factors are targeting accuracy by utilizing isotropic 3D targeting, and reducing the number of images that equate to a higher radiation exposure level.

Our typical biopsy process involves four scans:

To start, our biopsy bracket is installed under the table. Once the breast is stabilized in the bracket, the first pre-biopsy scan takes place to find the lesion.

Once the lesion is located, we measure the depth from the grid to the center of the lesion. We select a needle block that matches the exact location, rotate if necessary, and mark the entry point of the needle with a dot in the image.

Once the radiologist has all the necessary information, they can position the biopsy catheter. Once inserted, the second confirmation scan affirms that the catheter has reached the lesion. Next, the tissue can be sampled.

The third scan is called a post-biopsy scan, to confirm that the tissue was extracted successfully. Finally, a biopsy marker is placed to complete the fourth confirmation scan, verifying that the marker is in the right location.
